Foam stabilizing agent

For on-site production of foam, the raw materials are transported by pumps into a foaming machine. A dispersion of foam stabilizing agent is formed in water in the machine and the resin is introduced into the mixing chamber through jets. The finished foam emerges from the plastic pipe and can be used immediately at the site. One thousand liters (1 m ) of foam can be produced on-site from 20 liters of resin and 18 liters of foam solution. [Pg.235]

Foam mat dryers can only be used to dehydrate liquid foods that are capable of forming stabilized foams. This requirement imposes a restriction on the wide applicability of the method in the food industry because only a few foods, such as whole milk, have a foam-stabilizing capability. Fruit juices have been dried successfully by adding foam stabilizers. Vegetable gum and soluble protein have successfully been used in the food industry as foam-stabilizing agents. [Pg.536]

Foams and emulsions are achieved due to adsorption of foam stabilizing agents like surfactants at the interface between the dispersed and continuous phases. The foam stability is often related to the stability of thin liquid films formed between two air bubbles. All considered foam films are stabilized by ionic surfactant. [Pg.1636]
