Fluxes, brazing/soldering

Use Sand-casting of aluminum and magnesium grinding aid in resinoid grinding wheels flux for soldering and brazing , electrochemical processes and chemical research. 

USE Has been proposed as a flux for soldering and brazing filler in resin-bonded grinding wheels. 

Porous P/M products can be sinter bonded to soHd metals. They can also be welded, brazed, or soldered. Filling the voids with flux or molten metal has to be avoided. P/M porous products can be machined, but blocking of the porous passages has to be avoided. Press fitting and epoxy bonding are commonly used. 

Molybdenum pentachloride (MoGl ) is used as a brazing and soldering flux and to make fire-retardant resins. 

FLUX (Solder). A material which by its chemical action facilitates the soldering and brazing of metals. Such a flux applied to a metallic surface cleans it and renders it receptive to amaigamalion with the solder or brazing metal. Some fluxes are rosin, for soldering tin muriatic acid, fnr galvanized iron and other zinc surface and borax for brazing,... 

Normally a flux is used to remove oxides from surfaces when brazing or soldering, and a gas-oxide torch also requires the use of a flux. However, if the flame is oxygen-rich, as the flux is boiled or burnt off, the excess oxygen from the torch will oxidize the metal s surface before the solder can wet the surface. In a reducing flame, as the flux is boiled or burnt off, the reducing flame will maintain the pure metal until the solder can flow over and wet the surface. 

When analysing the behaviour of fluxed soldering or brazing systems, attention must be paid to the characteristics of the flux as well as the liquid metal so that, for example, the density term, p, should be replaced by the difference in density between the two fluids. 

Use Catalyst in organic synthesis, production of diborane, instruments for measuring neutron intensity, soldering fluxes, gas brazing. 

Use Chlorination catalyst, vapor-deposited molybdenum coatings, component of fire-retardant resins, brazing and soldering flux, intermediate for organo-metallic compounds, e.g., molybdenum hexacar-bonyl.
