Fluorinated Polymeric Peroxides. 1.1,4 4-Tetrafluorobutadiene is shaken with 0 under pressure at RT to produce polymeric peroxides contg as units the structures [CF2 CH CHCF200] and [CH(CH CF3)CF200]. The amt of 0 in the copolymers may be varied over wide limits. The polymers are white solids, sol in N CO, which liberate iodine from KI in aqueous Me3C0 and explode at 122°C. Electrode materials are generally composed of active particles or powders (e.g., AC powders) and binders. Binders can maintain the structural integrity of the active particles or powders and help electrode materials to adhere uniformly onto the current collector. To date, fluorinated polymeric binders, such as poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), have been extensively used for ESs. 

Nonetheless, biotransformation processes of PFC may occur when these compounds enter the environment, and thus known and unknown PFC may be generated in these compartments. Therefore, it is essential to determine metabolic pathways of such compounds in order to entirely understand their fate in the environment. This is especially true for fluorinated polymeric materials, which have only been the focus of two scientific articles so far [3, 4], although these compounds represent a large field of application of fluorinated compounds [5].

Fluorinated surfactants are used to generate stable foam in chromium-plating baths and anodizing baths to prevent misting and spattering (see Electroplating). A nonionic fluorinated polymeric surfactant can produce stable foam in hydrocarbon solvents.
