Flow techniques contribution to greener analytical chemistry

2 Flow techniques contribution to greener analytical chemistry [Pg.4]

We may classify flow methods in nonresolutive (SFA, flow injection analysis (FIA), sequential injection analysis (SIA), multicommutated flow injection analysis (MCFIA), multipumping flow systems (MPFS), etc.) and resolutive ones (chromatographic techniques, capillary electrophoresis, etc.). In this book we will mainly focus on nonresolutive flow methods of analysis. [Pg.4]

Nowadays, the amount and toxicity of the generated wastes is as important as any other analytical feature when developing a new analytical method. [Pg.4]

Ideally a green method should not produce chemical wastes, if so these should not be toxic and their amount should be minimized. Moreover toxic wastes should be recycled and if possible reused and/or the analytical method should include waste treatment and disposal. [Pg.4]
