Now every reader knows that to check a hypothesis in which we compare two variances, we have to use the Fischer test. Here the computed value of a Fischer random variable is compared with its theoretical value particularized by the concrete degrees of freedom (Vj, V2) and the confidence level 1 — a. Table 5.59 presents the synthesis of the analysis of variances for this case of the Latin squares method. [Pg.439]

S =1. These cakes were then dried for a definite time in the open atmosphere in the laboratory to obtain partially saturated cakes. The required time to reach a definite saturation degree was determined experimentally. The shear strength measurements of the produced cakes were made then using a Fischer test apparatus (6,7) shawn in Fig. 1. All experiments (production and the shear strength measurements of the cakes) have been done at room temperature. [Pg.575]

The Karl Fischer test method (ASTM D-1364, ASTM D-6304) covers the direct determination of water in petroleum. In the test, the sample injection in the titration vessel can be performed on a volumetric or gravimetric basis. Viscous samples can be analyzed with a water vaporizer accessory that heats the sample in the evaporation chamber, and the vaporized water is carried into the Karl Fischer titration cell by a dry, inert carrier gas. [Pg.48]

The Karl Fischer test determines how much water is present due to inefficient drying, the hygroscopic nature of the molecule, and/or is chemically bound as a hydrate, but does not distinguish between these types... [Pg.281]

Chemical tests such as Karl Fischer testing and pH are also important and conducted routinely. [Pg.202]

These residual moisture results are illustrative of an excellently freeze-dried product with relatively low vial-to-vial residual moisture variability as determined by the Karl Fischer test method. [Pg.391]

For statistical analysis, the latencies measured on conscious dogs were averaged for each eye in order to obtain the same number of data points as for the ketamine and thiopental anesthetic trials. Statistical analysis was performed using the Fischer test. [Pg.71]

Included in all equations of this chapter are the 95% confidence intervals or the standard errors associated with each coefficient and intercept of the regression equations (inside the parentheses), the squared correlation coefficient, s the standard deviation, and F the Fischer test of significance (if these statistics are available in the original papers). [Pg.245]
