Final assessment of an ageing related issue

Once the consequences of an ageing related problem affecting a structure, system or component have been identified, a final assessment of the situation regarding continuation of operation should be made. This may be done by answering the following questions  

Will the failure or degradation of the component, system or structure during reactor operation place the reactor operation outside the boundaries of the operational limits and conditions of the reactor licence  

Does the system or component fulfill its specified function If not, what are the consequences  

May it fail soon or can there be a time estimate made or other indicating conditions assessed to determine the point of failure  

What are the consequences of a failure appropriately taking into account the single failure criterion
