Film-forming fluoroprotein

AFFF-AR) A fire-extinguishing foam formulated specifically for alcohol, polar solvent, and hydrocarbon fires. See also Fluoroprotein Foam, Film Forming Fluoroprotein Foam, Aqueous Film Forming Foam. [Pg.359]

Film-forming fluoroprotein (FFFP) Automatic deluge sprinklers ... [Pg.116]

Foam extinguishers, identified by a pale cream panel, contain either AFFF (aqueous film forming foam), FFFP (film forming fluoroprotein foam) or FPF (fluoroprotein foam). These types of extinguishers all form a foam blanket over the fire which excludes the oxygen but their contents react... [Pg.666]

Fatal accident frequency rate Film forming fluoroprotein foam Flameproof... [Pg.982]

The foam produced with Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) concentrate is dry-chemical compatible. Protein and fluoroprotein foam concentrates and AFFF concentrates are incompatible and should not be mixed although foams separately generated with these concentrates are compatible and can be applied to a fire in sequence or simultaneously. AFFF is available in various liquid concentrate percentages. [Pg.137]

Where the vapours to be controlled are flammable, many of these foams are quite similar to the protein, fluoroprotein, and aqueous-film-forming foams used in firefighting [590,594,598] (see also Section 12.9). Where longer-term odour and toxicity control are more important many of these foams are polymer-thickened and gelling foams [592-594]. Other applications of foam blankets are discussed in Sections 10.5 and 13. [Pg.241]
