Fill time arrester

The distinction between the two forms has been examined in some detail as submicrometer feature filling and relaxation of the diffusive boundary layer occur on the same time scale [64, 302]. Boundary conditions are required at the top, bottom and sides of the domain as shown in Figure 2.25 a statement of the initial conditions is also required for the time-dependent form. Where temporal evolution is considered, the relaxation of the boundary layer is usually arrested at the same value, 8, corresponding to the experimentally relevant hydrodynamic conditions used in... [Pg.148]

The heart is then placed into a sterile bag filled with Celsior solution, all air is evacuated and a ligature is placed around it. We place the first bag into two additional sterile bowel bags, which are tied separately. Protected by three separate sterile layers, the organ is then placed and buried in a container filled with crushed ice. Under these conditions, the myocardial metabolism is significantly reduced, by both diastolic arrest after infusion of crystalloid car-dioplegic solution and hypothermic storage at about 2-5°C. With this method, which is currently the only one used for heart preservation, 4-5 h of ischemia time is generally accepted to be safe (Yacoub et al. 1990). [Pg.16]

Evolution of the structure factor for different times after the quench (left peaks increasing with t ) and standard deviation of the density in subboxes of size L/4 as a function of the attraction strength (right). The filled circles mark three states in the left panel. (From Puertas A.M. et al. 2007. J. Phys. Condens. Matter 19 205140. With permission.)... [Pg.149]
