3 Fibre reinforcements and matrices used in the pultrusion of advanced composites 

As with other manufacturing processes, advanced composite materials produced by pultrusion are constituted by two phases  

The hbres most commonly used in the pultrusion of advanced composites are glass and carbon, with aramid being used only in a limited number of applications. The physical, mechanical and thermal properties of these hbres are presented in Table 9.1.
