Fiberglass pads

When drying is done, press tare, wait for reading to stabilize, and then remove fiberglass pads. 

Deposit 1 to 2 g sample onto the rough side of one fiberglass pad. If sample is a liquid, use a pipet to cover as much of the pad as possible. If a semisolid, use a spatula to spread as evenly as possible. Avoid lumps. Apply sample as quickly as possible to avoid loss of moisture during application. 

Further, when this same type of inoculum is added after being filtered through fiberglass pads and dense Whatman filter paper and with all methane bacteria inhibited, the Ec value again drops to —480 mv. 

Dry two fiberglass sample pads by placing them on the balance ring, dropping cover over pads, and closing analyzer door. 

Inorganic Materials. A few inorganic materials form fibers. Fiberglass made of spun glass has excellent insulating properties. Mixed with epoxy resins, fiberglass is an important reinforcing component for use in such products as automobile bodies and boats. Steel fibers can be pressed into steel wool pads, widely used for their abrasive quality, or they can be braided or twisted into ropes. 

Repacking kits (copper pads and fiberglass) are available for 2 ppd, Obtaining the materials locally is cheaoer. 

Fiberglass (Millipore Cat. No. GFCP203000) is used for making sample and conjugate pads.
