Ferrocenyl gold

Compound 48 and the ferrocenyl-gold""" and ruthenocenyl-gold " compounds 49 provide interesting examples of a hypercarbon atom that is not only part of an aromatic cyclopentadienyl ring system, in which it is bonded to two other carbon atoms, but also bonds simultaneously to the sandwiched iron atom and (by a 3c-2e bond) to the two coinage atoms. The related dication 50 has also been isolated. " ... [Pg.60]

The gold complex, generated in situ from bis(4-isocyanocyclohexyl)gold(I) tetrafluoroborate and (A)-A-methyl-,V-[2-(dialkylamino)ethyl]-l-[(5)-r,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenyl]eth-ylamine, is an effective catalyst for the aldol reaction of various aldehydes with methyl iso-cyanoacetate to give the trans- and cw-4,5-dihydro-l,3-oxazoles. Depending on the aldehyde, the transjeis product ratio ranges from 84 16 to 100 0, and the ee of the main diastereomer is between 72 and 97%26. [Pg.583]

The ferrocenyl dendrimers were electrodeposited in their oxidized forms onto the electrode surfaces (platinum, glassy-caibon, and gold) either by controlled potential electrolysis or by repeated cycling between the appropriate anodic and cathodic potential limits therefore the amount of electroactive material electrode-posited can be controlled with the electrolysis time or the number of scans. The electrochemical behavior of films of the polyfeirocenyl dendrimers was studied by cyclic voltammetry in fresh CH2CI2 and CHjCN solutions containing only supporting electrolyte. [Pg.165]

In the dinuclear derivative with the 4,5-dihydro-4,4-dimethyl-l,3-oxazol-2-yl)thien-3-yl ligand (Figure 2.57b) the gold-gold distance is 2.8450(6) A [310]. [Pg.103]

Other heterobimetallic aryl-phosphine-gold(I) complexes with different ferrocenyl derivatives, such as A-[2-A/,A/-(dimethylaminoethyl)-A-methyl-aminoethyl]-ferrocenyl (FcN,N), 2-nitroferrocenyl or ruthenocenyl, have also been reported. [Pg.100]

The use of ferrocenyl derivatives has also led to the synthesis of other trinuclear organogold(I) complexes that usually contain the fragment C-Au-P. Some of them contain l,l/-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (dppf) bridging two gold(I) atoms and a variety of aryl groups (see Table XV). They have been prepared by treatment of the trinuclear chloro derivative [(ClAu)2(dppf)] with two equivalents of the corresponding aryllithium [Eq. (39)] and their photophysical and electrochemical properties have been studied.126... [Pg.109]

Carbodiimides are widely used to mediate the attachment of biomarkers to polypeptides. Examples include carbodiimides with ferrocenyl substituents. Also, peptides are covalently modified with ferrocenecarboxylic acid using EDCCl and N-hydroxy-succinimide to promote the coupling to surface lysines. They also mediate the attachment of substituents to single walled nanotubes (SWNTs) and multiwalled nanotubes (MWNTs). Also, microdots are attached to virus molecules using a water soluble carbodiimide. The attachment of viral DNA to gold particles is used in the manufacture of a new type of vaccine. [Pg.2]

Arylgold(I) and arylgold(III) chemistry had a late start in the 1960s, but then grew rapidly through the work by Uson and Nesmeyanov, complemented by work on cyclopentadienyl- see Cyclopentadienyl), ferrocenyl- see Ferrocene), and cymantrenyl- see Cymantrene) gold compounds. [Pg.1464]
