Ferrocene polyoxa-thia coronands

The sulfur-containing ferrocene coronands were among the first reported [103] and several types, e.g. 51-54, are now known [104-107], Various other related compounds have been characterized and can be found in the references cited. [Pg.48]

These coronands are efficient complexing agents for silver(I), 55, but not for alkali metals. They can serve as extracting agents for Ag+, T1+, Cd, Co +, Cu +, Ni +, and Hg + and they complex selectively with Hg + and Cu +. [Pg.48]

A tetrathiafulvalene unit has been incorporated into the macrocycle 56 to modify its electrochemical (redox) properties [108], [Pg.49]
