Most of the Mossbauer spectra were collected on salts of ferrate(VI) (Table 24.2). Table 24.2 demonstrates that isomer shifts of different compounds of ferrate(VI) vary very little (—0.87 to —0.91 mms ). This indicates a weak influence of the counterions on iron bound in an oxygen tetrahedron, which is the main structural unit of all ferrates(VI). In recent years, hyperfine parameters of K2Fe04 at very low temperature (1.5-5 K) with and without external magnetic field have been determined (Table 24.3) [101]. There has been a marked resurgence of interest in this area. Recently published kinetic parameters for ligand dissociation from pentacyano-ferrates(II), [Fe(CN)5L] , are shown in Table 8.1, " which also contains earlier kinetic data for a few key complexes for comparison. It may be presumed that these dissociations take place by the limiting D mechanism. 

In a study which included the determination of the structure and the acidity constants of the seven-coordinate complex aqua(o-phenylenediamine-JV,AT,A, iV -tetraacetato)ferrate(III), the temperature- and pressure-dependent kinetic parameters for water exchange were determined by ONMR line broadening to be )fc(298.2 K) = 1.2 0.2x 10 s", =26 + 3 kJ mol-, ...
