Feathered Wing feather section

In China, butterfly wings were occasionally used in the same way as kingfisher feathers. Small sections of the brightly coloured wings were cut out and glued onto a background, possibly silver, the effect somewhat resembling enamel. 

In this section, superhydrophobic plant leaves, bird feathers, insect wings and legs are discussed.
