Fashion design creation

Fashion design is another industry where CAD is employed. The patternmakers who bring to fruition the designers creations use CAD to determine the most efficient cuts of fabrics and to alter the pattern sizes easily. 

As seen in Fig. 9.1, Janice Martin, couture fashion designer, presented a number of E-Textile creations at the Philadelphia Festival of the Arts opening runway show in 2011, with bonded LEDs (Fig. 9.2). 

Referencing stored design to its creation date enables the different versions to be managed in a comfortable fashion. Versions are overwritten only if the user expressly wishes it otherwise, each modification is maintained as an independent version.

P-Sheet is the other form of secondary structure present in proteins and consists of P-strands connected laterally by backbone hydrogen bonds and arranged in a parallel or antiparaUel fashion. Much like the a-helix, p-sheets can be made amphiphilic to facilitate the creation of design guidelines. Since in p-sheets, the side chains alternately stick out of the plan in opposite directions, the HPHPHP pattern forms p-sheets with a hydrophilic side and a hydrophobic side, which spontaneously self-assemble. One of such assemblies (RADA16, where R stands for arginine, A for alanine, and D for aspartic acid) is now marketed, primarily for research purposes, under the commercial name PuraMatrix. Several studies have employed these hydrogels for cell culture.
