Ezitimibe

Ezitimibe inhibits absorption of cholesterol from the intestine, probably by interfering with a cholesterol transport system. It is used as an adjunct to therapy with statins in patients with severe hyperiipidaemia, or alone if statins are not tolerated. [Pg.77]

Adverse reactions to ezitimibe are gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, fatigue and myalgia. [Pg.78]
