EXTRUSION DIES INC

Different types of dies are required to produce the many different shapes produced by extruders worldwide. Table 17.3 is an example of the few types of dies designed and manufactured by Extrusion Dies, Inc. [Pg.536]

A Fast-Gap system (trade mark of Extrusion Dies, Inc.) on a die extends the adjustment range, and eliminates the parting line of a removable lower lip. This device provides an additional 5 mm of adjustment ( 2.5 mm), by simply turning a hex headed power screw on the end of the die. The operator can now also flex open the lip to clean it, and then close it back to the run position, saving time and reducing scrap. [Pg.226]

As the plastic exits the die it is cooled on a conveyer. In addition to round pipe, extrusion lends itself to other shapes that are long and continuous, such as window moldings. Top companies in plastic pipe manufacture include Royal Group, Inc., J-M Manufacturing (doing business as JM Eagle) and CertainTeed. [Pg.39]

Another interesting long glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic BMC operation was developed by Composite Products, Inc. (219,220). Basically it is an on-site extrusion and molding operation. The long glass fibers, up to 50 mm long, are fed downstream into the extruder. The compound exits the open die as a log and is stationed in the accumulator until compression molded. Thermoplastic SMC process has been recently patented by ThermoComp (221). [Pg.319]
