External inspection leaks

A system for inspecting ah packages received, and routinely in-store, for leaks, damage, external coiTosion, etc. 

LPG vessels may be directly buried below grade or mounded above grade to reduce exposure to an external fire. Both of these methods require special precautions, careful preparation, and special design features, since they introduce other substantial hazards. These hazards include undetected corrosion, undetected leaks, and the potential for mechanical damage when the vessel is unearthed for inspection. 

Monthly external cleaning and inspection. This will uncover any leaks which can then be repaired. 

Wherever possible, there should be a continuous secondary barrier for the entire pipeline system, in the form of jacket pipes, collecting basins, and channels. In some cases, this is not possible because it would impede cathodic corrosion protection or because differential expansion of the pipe and outer jacket threaten the systan. The secondary barrier can then only consist of intensive organizational and operative backup measures shorter inspection periods, shorter distances between shutoff points to limit possible losses, more elaborate provisions for leak detection, continual ronote monitoring of the pipeline systan, both internally and externally, equipment for tackling anergency events and catastrophes, contingency plans, and so forth. 

C) External evidence of leaks and structural damage evidence of leaks and damage below the waterline may be determined through internal inspection of the vessel/flotation device. 

Investigation showed that the CRD housings are inspected by volumetric or surface inspections every ten years and by external checking for leaks every refueling outage in accordance with ASME Section XI, Table IWB-2500-1, Items B14.10 and B15.10. The inspections conducted confirm that no cracking has occurred except for several early plants with furnace-sensitized stub tubes. Repairs are not necessary because degradation has not... 

The use of thermography inspection technique is recommended aiming at checking the component temperature to identify internal leaks in valves and in hydraulic actuators. The seal wear can be associated particle contamination of hydraulic oil causing internal or external leaks in the valves and actuators.
