Expertise oriented evaluation approach

The expertise-oriented approach to evaluation is one of the oldest and most widely used forms of evaluation (Worthen and Sanders 1987,98). For example, the worth of a curriculum would be assessed by curriculum or subject-matter experts who would observe the curriculum in action and examine its content and underlying learning theory or in some other way glean sufficient information to render a considered judgment about its value (Worthen and Sanders 1987,98). [Pg.129]

The next level of evaluation for web-based courses is the overall evaluation of the program. Benchmarking the abilities of students that have completed web-based instruction against students that have completed the same course in a traditional approach is an example of how this type of evaluation maybe accomplished. [Pg.129]
