Exitance spectral

See also photon exitance, spectral radiant exitance. [Pg.338]

For a freely radiating target (i.e., with cold black surroundings), the exitent spectral radiance is due only to the emission by the target (see Figure 7.17), therefore. [Pg.587]

The first requirement is a source of infrared radiation that emits all frequencies of the spectral range being studied. This polychromatic beam is analyzed by a monochromator, formerly a system of prisms, today diffraction gratings. The movement of the monochromator causes the spectrum from the source to scan across an exit slit onto the detector. This kind of spectrometer in which the range of wavelengths is swept as a function of time and monochromator movement is called the dispersive type. [Pg.57]

This system produces a steady laminar flow with a flat velocity profile at the burner exit for mean flow velocities up to 5m/s. Velocity fluctuations at the burner outlet are reduced to low levels as v /v< 0.01 on the central axis for free jet injection conditions. The burner is fed with a mixture of methane and air. Experiments-described in what follows are carried out at fixed equivalence ratios. Flow perturbations are produced by the loudspeaker driven by an amplifier, which is fed by a sinusoidal signal s)mthesizer. Velocity perturbations measured by laser doppler velocimetry (LDV) on the burner symmetry axis above the nozzle exit plane are also purely sinusoidal and their spectral... [Pg.82]

The emitted spectral radiant power (or exitance) or the emitted spectral photon trradiance (or exitance) plotted as a function of the frequency, wavenumber, or wavelength. The corrected emission spectrum has been cor-... [Pg.227]

We shall assume that the spectrometer basically consists of an entrance slit of area A focused on an exit slit at 1 1 magnification (Fig. 1). The recorded image is blurred because of diffraction and aberrations in the optics between the two slits and because of electronic blur in the readout circuit. The ultimate aim is to deconvolve or restore the spectral image so as to retrieve the spectral pattern at the entrance slit the latter pattern is called the object. [Pg.230]
