B-sublattice also favors vacancy formation at elevated temperatures [Pg.75]

It is noteworthy that the ionic conductivity in heavily doped 1x1, Sr CoO j, (LSC) and its derivatives is comparable to, or even higher than, that of most oxygen ionic conductors. In contrast. La, Sr MnO3 g (LSM) has a relatively low ionic conductivity as compared to Lii Sr CoO j g however, the thermal expansion of LSM is compatible with that of YSZ ( = (10-12) x 10 K ), whereas the CTEs of Lai Sr CoO j g are excessively high ( 20 x 10 K )- Numerous efforts are therefore made to reduce thermal expansion of cobaltites, particularly via B-site doping. [Pg.76]
