For example, projection of the compound with substituents dimethylamine-N02 defines a DMSO-methylenedichloride contrast of about 16 (Fig. 31.6), where the real difference is 42.38 - 26.07 or 16.31 (Table 31.2). Graphical estimation of the same contrast for the MeO-MeO compound yields a value of -1, which compares well with the difference between tabulated data of 21.27 - 22.19 or-0.92. 

The answers to these questions are common across any set of components that can work together (see Section 10.2.2, Components and Standardization). Together, they form a set of definitions and rules called a component architecture. Microsoft s DCOM, the Object Management Group s CORBA, and Sun s JavaBeans are examples. Project teams often devise their own component architecture either independently or (more sensibly) as specializations of these types. Highly generalized architectures cannot provide, for example, a common model of a Bank Customer, but this would be a sensible extension within a bank.

For the reactive thioketones, the channel cross sectional area is fairly large whereas for the unreactlve thioketones either there is no channel or the channel is too small. As typical examples, projection of the crystal packing on a plane perpendicular to the channel axis for Michlers thione and 1-phenyl naphyl thloketone are shown in Figure 6. 

The example projects are modeled in a way similar to workflow models the identified reference elements are stored in a reference library. Therefore, the existing partial model of the simulation model must be extended with additional process parameters. 

The third task, and the one that is much too often overlooked, is the communication of the learnings of the modeling to subject matter experts, for example, project team members. This involves translating the model into quantities and pictures that nonpharmacometricians can relate to and that directly address the aim of the analysis. How this should be done has to be decided on a case by case basis depending on what the question of interest is. Despite this, we give three examples that we believe are of a more general nature. 

Projected Pictures. Projection of visuals have certain advantages. For example, projection magnifies the material, therefore, a bigger group can easily see it. It is somehow motivating, therefore, compels attention.
