Europium , crystal structure

The resolution of the PDB 1X8W crystal structure does not allow identification of magnesium ions. However, heavy atom [europium (Eu) and iridium. [Pg.253]

All the determined crystal structures exhibited hexagonal arrays of metal-metal interactions with diagonal interactions in the layer. All the lanthanum salts and the europium one were isostructural. [Pg.379]

Tungstate. — McDonald et al. [355] synthesized europium tungstate, Eu2(W04)3, from EU2O3 and tungstic acid. The crystal structure of this compound was determined by Templeton and Zalktn [355]. The... [Pg.128]

EUROPIUM. [CAS 7440-53-11. Chemical clement symbol Hit. at no 63. al. wt. 151.96, sixth in the Lanthanide Series in the periodic table, nip 822 C. bp 1529 C. density 5.245 g/cm1 20 C). Elemental europium has u body-centered cubic crystal structure at 25"C. The pure metallic europium... [Pg.590]

The lanthanum or europium atoms had no interaction with the gold and silver centers, and the determined crystal structures exhibited hexagonal arrays of metal-metal interactions with diagonal interactions in the layer and the lanthanoids in the middle of the hexagonal prisms. In both examples, the lanthanum and the europium salts were isostructural (Fig. 5). [Pg.333]

The mixed-occupied Au/Pb site in the EuAuPb structure is shown with segments. The three-dimensional [TPb] networks are emphasized. [Pg.81]

The homoleptic lanthanide(III) benzamidinates 20-23 can be regarded as analogues of the well known tris(cyclopentadienyl)lanthanide complexes (C5H5)3Ln [7, 8]. One of the most characteristic reactions of the homoleptic cyclopentadienyls is the formation of 1 1 adducts with Lewis bases such as ethers, nitriles, esters etc. [7, 8], Recently it was discovered that the homoleptic lanthanide benzamidinates [PhC(NSiMe3)2]3Ln (20) form similar adducts with THF and nitrile ligands such as acetonitrile or benzonitrile [59]. The molecular and crystal structures of two benzonitrile adducts (26g, h) have been determined by X-ray diffraction. Figure 8 depicts the molecular structure of the europium... [Pg.124]

Consulting Table 5.13 indicates that a maximum of 3 bands is predicted for the former and 5 bands for the latter, again suggesting that there are two distinctly different europium sites. In fact, the crystal structure of this compound shows that there are two distinctly different molecules present in the unit cell, both with square antiprismatic coordination of europium, with occupancy factors of 59% and 41% (see R.C. Holz and L.C. Thompson, Inorg. Chem., 1993, 32, 5251 another example of this behaviour can be found in D.F. Moser, L.C. Thompson, and V.G. Young, /. Alloys Compd., 2000, 303-304, 121.)... [Pg.85]

Europium doped barium aluminates of the type Bai xEuxMg2Ali6027 are used as a blue component in fluorescent lamps, and are also being investigated for possible use in flat panel displays. The crystal structure of this material is characterized by an intergrowth of spinel and magnetoplumbite units (See 3.4.2 and 3.11). [Pg.3444]

Pettinari et al. [49] reported a Zundel ion H5OJ stabilized tetrakis(P-diketonate) europium complex, H5O J [Eu(L" )4]. The complex anion in this ion-pair complex is charge balanced by the Zundel cations H5OJ, which is stabilized by strong H bonding with the N atoms of the anionic heterocyclic ligand The crystal structure study revealed that different [Eu(L )4] ... [Pg.60]
