Ethylene-Vinylacetate Copolymer EVM

EVM can only be cured by peroxide. The elastic properties of EVM are due to the absence of crystallinity in the copolymer. [Pg.562]

The resistance of EVM to hydrocarbon fluids is dependent upon the vinyl acetate content. Higher levels of vinyl acetate increase the polarity of the polymer and, therefore, increase the hydrocarbon resistance. [Pg.562]

EVM finds application as wire insulation in the automotive industry. Ethylene vinyl acetate is also used in the production of thermoplastic elastomers as the soft phase. [Pg.562]
