Ethylene Diehloride

SODIUM META-ALUMINATE (1302-42-7 11138-49-1) Aqueous solution is a strong base. Incompatible with organic anhydrides, acrylates, alcohols, aldehydes, alkylene oxides, substituted allyls, eellulose nitrate, cresols, caprolactam solution, chlorocarbons, epichloro-hydrin, ethylene diehloride, isocyanates, ketones, glyeols, nitrates, phenols, vinyl acetate. Exothermic decomposition with maleic anhydride. May increase the explosive sensitivity of nitromethane. Attacks aluminum, copper, tin, and zine. 

Finally, the combined acetone extracts are extracted once again at least 6 litres using l/4th volmne of ethylene diehloride and the extract is carefully evaported to get rid of the solvent under vacuum to obtain hydrocortisone. 

Preparation by reaction of trifluoroacetic anhydride on 2-isobutylresorcinol with aluminium chloride in ethylene diehloride at r.t. (78%) [4689]. 

A process to recover ethylene diehloride, EDO, and methylene diehloride, MDC, using activated carbon fibers, ACF, is discussed in this seetion. The gas at approximately 50°C, containing EDO and MDC is received from a painting process. It is pretreated by a filter to remove dusts and pass through a heat exchanger to cool it down to approximately 30-40°C. The pretreated gas is fed to adsorption columns filled with ACF where the gas is cleaned sufficiently for it to be safely released to atmosphere.
