Therapeutic potential essential oils

A review of pharmaceutical and therapeutic potentials of essential oils, some of which are found in Kenya and their individual constituents has also been reported. At its sublethal doses, the oil of Cymbopogon citratus was found to completely inhibit aflatoxin Bi production from Aspergillus flavus. It is apparent from the diverse range of conditions that have bene tted from the administration of essential oils that their therapeutic potential is vast and yet underdeveloped. Moreover, since they are not composed of a single magic bullet with one target, they often have multiple effects that have additive or synergistic properties within a treatment regime.
