Upper esophageal stricture

In 12 patients with aluminium phosphide-induced esophageal strictures, mean age 27, who had taken 1-3 tablets 4—156 weeks before presentation, dysphagia had begun within 2-8 weeks of ingestion [8 ]. Of 14 strictures in 12 patients, seven were in the upper third, two in the middle third, and five in the lower third of the esophagus the mean length of the strictiues was 2 cm.
