Epoxy resins cautions

One word of caution is needed here 8a cannot be used indiscriminately for every polymer. It is well known that ketones are excellent solvents for epoxy resins while higher 8a solvents like alcohols are not. [Pg.61]

Epoxy resin compounds are being recognized by architects and engineers for their varied chemical and physical properties. As technical people become more aware of the potential values of these systems, in use with concrete in the construction industries, greater uses will be made of a greater variety of formulations. However, caution should be exercised by all those who specify these compounds, that the epoxies are not a cure-all for all problems, that epoxies may be detrimental in some applications, and that proprieta.ry compounds should be thoroughly evaluated before they are used. [Pg.60]

On the other hand, the RDDE electrode is undoubtedly relatively difficult and expensive to construct, and it must be handled and used with caution. The gap between disc and ring needs to be uniform, and the study of short-lived intermediates requires the gap to be thin (for typical values see Table 4.1). Moreover, there must not be any leakage of solution between the electrodes and the sheath (usually FIFE or an epoxy resin). [Pg.138]

CAUTION It should be noted that some aromatic and cyclic amines used in curing epoxy resins may be carcinogenic. All amine curing agents or N-heterocyclic types should be suspect and handled with great care. [Pg.111]
