Epiphytic microorganisms

Large quantities of a variety of epiphytic microtlora (bacteria, yeasts, and fungal spores) are present on the grape skin surface. The development or reproduction of a given microorganism is, above all, determined by environmental conditions (temperature and free water). [Pg.290]

Microorganisms are found in almost all ecological niches. Plants may provide a variety of nutrients and are, therefore, attractive hosts for microorganisms.
