Enzymes as Source of Inspiration

Thanks to their hybrid structures, MOFs combine the advantages of being chemically and thermally more stable than enzymes and also being more flexible and better organized than zeolites. 

The hydrophobic organic cavities of the MOFs can be compared with the hydrophobic pocket found in enzymes. Indeed MOF materials have polar sites
