10 Environmental Impact and Recycling of Thermoplastic Copolyester Elastomers 

Thermoplastic copolyesters elastomers can be recycled by the conventional methods used for plastics, such as mechanical recycling, chemical degradation and sometimes by energy recovery, i.e. incineration. 

Incineration for energy recovery seems to be of minor importance as a recycling option for TPEEs, as compared to some commodity waste polymers. This recycling technique is based on the incineration of unsorted waste or their fractions after sorting and separation. It should be point out that incineration is the simplest way of the waste utilization, and the combustion energies of the plastics are comparable to or higher than that of coal.
