Environmental effect design strategy

For many organizations, the prodnct design stage is critical from the point of view of public responsibility. Design decisions impact your production processes and often the content of municipal and industrial wastes. Effective design strategies should anticipate growing environmental concerns and responsibilities. [Pg.372]

Further strategies being implemented to minimize dye and related chemical effluent include designing more environmentally friendly chemicals, more efficient (higher yielding) manufacturing processes, and more effective dyes, for example, reactive dyes with higher fixation rate. [Pg.634]

Ecological. This historically venerable strategy is characterized by tactics designed to minimize exposure of plants to pathogens and make environmental conditions unfavorable for disease development. Measures include crop rotation, sanitation, and quarantine. Such procedures are valuable and worthy of further development, but they are generally of limited effectiveness in providing reliably high yield and quality of crops in areas with severe or persistent disease problems. [Pg.48]
