Entry Level Driver Training Requirements.Part

Entry-level driver training (Part 380, Subpart E) — A driver with less than one year of experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a eommereial driver s hcense in interstate commerce must receive instraction in driver qualification requirements, hours of service, driver wellness, and whistleblower proteetion. [Pg.30]

One of the many new requirements for your drivers is outlined in 49 CFR Part 380. It specifies how entry level driver training is to be conducted and docmnented. [Pg.897]

Entry-level driver training is required for any driver of a CDL vehicle that has less than one year of experience. This training must include training on the hours-of-service regulations and fatigue management, health and wellness, driver qualification requirements, and whistleblower protections afforded to drivers. These requirements are found in Part 380. [Pg.620]

Part 380 lays out training requirements for drivers that fall into two categories, LCV (longer combination vehicles) drivers and entry level drivers. The part does not mandate who must provide the training, however, it does require employers to maintain records showing that the training was completed by the driver. [Pg.185]
