This has been ascribed to Roger Bacon [12147-1294]. This English text was issued in The mirror of alchimy, composed by the thrice-famous and learned fryer, Roger Bachon. Also a most excellent and learned discourse of the admirable force and efficacie of Art and Nature, written by the same Author. With certain other worthie treatises of the like argument. London, 1597."...

This key work of 17th century alchemy, appears to have been first published in 1608, and I have counted nearly 30 editions printed up to the end of the 18th century. It was included in a number of alchemical compendia, and was frequently quoted in alchemical works. The English text has here been transcribed by Jerry Bujas". The second is Doctor Gaby Boschi, who died in October 2001. Her work has provided us with unique insights into the impact of brain microdialysis on neuropharmacokinetics. 

SOI Reading Comprehension Questions, 4th Edition will work well in combination with almost any basic reading or English text. You will probably find it most helpful to give your student(s) a brief lesson on the topic (main idea, fact/detail, inference, etc.), and then have them spend the remainder of the class or session reading the passages and answering the questions. When you finish, take some time for a brief review session.

Forman s astrological manual would have sat neatly on a shelf with the big Latin tomes on the subject, but next to English texts it was overgrown with detail.When he drafted his first manual of astrological physic c.1594—5, he...

Figure 6.4 provides an illustration of an ASL version of the English text describing the spatial layout of the dinnerware. 

If a signer were to translate the English text into ASL using classifier constructions, he or she would have to be explicit about the spatial layout,...
