For the new building at Sapporo City University steel foundation pile is decided to be used with the HVAC system. The construction work started in January 2005. The minimum brine outlet temperature is —0.8 °C during the fifth year s operation. During summer the outside air for the ventilation is cooled by the circulated brine between ventilation units and U-tubes in foundation piles and then removed heat is released into the ground. Finally it is realized that brine temperature after the summer season completely recovered to the initial temperature at the start of the fifth year s operation.
