Energetics of charge transfer processes

The free energy curves allow one to discuss the energetics involved in the two types of charge transfer processes. For thermal electron transfer reactions, the... [Pg.689]

In this chapter, a novel interpretation of the membrane transport process elucidated based on a voltammetric concept and method is presented, and the important role of charge transfer reactions at aqueous-membrane interfaces in the membrane transport is emphasized [10,17,18]. Then, three respiration mimetic charge (ion or electron) transfer reactions observed by the present authors at the interface between an aqueous solution and an organic solution in the absence of any enzymes or proteins are introduced, and selective ion transfer reactions coupled with the electron transfer reactions are discussed [19-23]. The reaction processes of the charge transfer reactions and the energetic relations... [Pg.489]

The shallow and deep levels play the important role in the sensitization process. Detailed research in this field has shown the presence of four local electron centers in the energetic spectrum of the sensitized PVC in the range 0.6-3.3 eV [63,64]. The density of localized states was of the order 1018 1019 cm-3. These can play essential role in spectral and chemical sensitization due to their influence on photogeneration, recombination and charge transfer processes. [Pg.23]

The phenomenon of charge transfer in the gas phase has been discussed above. It was pointed out that such processes are quite probable when energetically allowed and commonly transfer vibrational... [Pg.210]

The transition state free energy change of the reaction was half of the Z-value change. The Z-value is derived from a charge-transfer process, and a reaction which varies in its energetics in the same way must also be charge-transfer. [Pg.152]
