Linear Low Density Polyethylene. Films from linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) resias have 75% higher tensile strength, 50% higher elongation-to-break strength, and a slightly higher but broader heat-seal initiation temperature than do films from LDPE. Impact and puncture resistance are also improved over LDPE. Water-vapor and gas-permeation properties are similar to those of LDPE films. [Pg.452]

Some tests, while undergoing deformation, are usually referred to as static in that they are performed at slow speeds or low cycles. Examples of these tests are stretch modulus, ultimate tensile, and elongation to break, ie, a measure of total energy capabiUties or mpture phenomena. [Pg.251]

For properties such as peel strength and elongation to break, which decrease with oxidation, a different empirical relation has to be used. We have found that elongation to break and peel strength retention data can be fit to the following expression [15] ... [Pg.959]

A similar dependence applies to the standard deviation for elongation to break. The upper and lower ranges shown in Figures 34.5 through 34.12 were generated using the following equations ... [Pg.961]

Based on the above arguments, with peel strength measurements for the three SUV/Minivan tires. We will also include the elongation to break data for the Large Car-C tire even though the difference in wedge rubber modulus between the held and oven sets makes the comparison between these data sets somewhat questionable. [Pg.970]
