Elmer’s glue

Elmer s Glue-All (Borden, Columbus, OH) 15% v/v in deionized water dispensed into 50-mL centrifuge tubes. 

Holding a slide by the label end, dip the slide into the centrifuge tube of Elmer s glue (see Note 5). 

Materials small glass jars, measuring cup, Elmer s glue, Borax, food coloring... 

A simple putty can be made with Elmer s glue by mixing 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of glue with 4 teaspoons (20 mL) of water in a jar. In another jar, mix about cup (120 mL) of water, / teaspoon of Borax, and 2 or 3 drops of food color. Take a tablespoon (15 mL) of the Borax solution... 

While unaffected by water, styrofoam is dissolved by many organic solvents and is unsuitable for high-temperature applications because its heat-distortion temperature is around 77°C. Molded styrofoam objects are produced commercially from expandable polystyrene beads, but this process does not appear attractive for laboratory applications because polyurethane foams are much easier to foam in place. However, extruded polystyrene foam is available in slabs and boards which may be sawed, carved, or sanded into desired shapes and may be cemented. It is generally undesirable to join expanded polystyrene parts with cements that contain solvents which will dissolve the plastic and thus cause collapse of the cellular structure. This excludes from use a large number of cements which contain volatile aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, or esters. Some suitable cements are room-temperature-vulcanizing silicone rubber (see below) and solvent-free epoxy cements. When a strong bond is not necessary, polyvinyl-acetate emulsion (Elmer s Glue-All) will work.

Glue the M-80 into place on the inside of the lid using Elmer s Glue, bathtub caulk, or epoxy glue. The glue should completely seal off the fuse from contact with the atmosphere which will be formed inside the jug. It would be anticlimactic for premature... 

This doesn t mean ricin bullets or darts should be discounted. Under the skin, the stuff is much more potent. A hollow-point. 22 bullet, spread out slightly and packed with finely powdered castor bean would surely be fatal. But use a drop of mucilage instead of water in the poerder and let dry a few days and seal with Elmer s Glue. 

To arm your hoUowiidiit bullets with rida, just pot a drop of water on a small die of ridn and make it into a paste. Th i smear it into the hdhnrs until they are full and set them aside for a few days to dry. Then put a drop of Elmer s glue over the hollow to seal it. 

The Elmer s glue is hardened in a 60-70°C oven for about 15 min and the frame placed in a capsule or mold.
