Electroplating advantages

If such fasteners are stove-enamelled (which is normally not done), the trapped hydrogen is removed automatically while being stoved. Since the fasteners are used only for the assembly of switchgear or busbar systems, they are used at room temperature only. Therefore, if they are electroplated, they must be tampered, which is time consuming and adds to the cost of production. Moreover this has no technical advantage. The HT hardware must therefore be used as they are. When it is absolutely necessary to electroplate them, tampering will be essential. [Pg.370]

The more important metallic coating methods such as electroplating, spraying, hot-dipping and diffusion have already been considered. There are, however, several other methods which have certain advantageous features and therefore find exclusive application in specific fields. These include new techniques such as laser hardening and alloying. ... [Pg.433]

Recent studies have demonstrated that simultaneous ultrasonic irradiation of electrochemical systems significantly improve electrochemical reactions [10,11]. Ultrasound has been used extensively in the electroplating industry for many years, and the literature contains many articles reporting the advantages of ultrasound in electrodeposition and plating which include ... [Pg.234]

As an alternative to surface energy matching, electrical poling can be used to orient the microdomains.32 33 One of the advantages of this method is that the thickness of the film can be thicker, and the substrate can be varied.34 When the block copolymer is allowed to phase separate on an electrode surface, the porous film can be filled via electroplating, leading to the formation of nanowires ( 15 nm in diameter) in a polymer matrix.35... [Pg.32]
