Electrokinetic chromatography separations are those put into practice with electrolytes containing a secondary phase that migrate with a particular velocity distinct from that of the analyte. The fundamental requirement for EKC separations is that either the analyte or the secondary phase must be charged under the electrolyte medium pH.
