Spark-assisted chemical engraving takes advantage of the electrochemical discharges generated in a gas film around an electrode, as described in Chapter 2. This gas film is a key element of the process. On one hand, the gas film is necessary for machining but, on the other hand, it conditions the quality of the machining.
