Among the first mixers other than drums and pug mills used for agglomeration was the Eirich mixer. In 1934 a patent was issued in Germany for the Eirich... [Pg.180]

Eirich Mixer. An under-driven wet-pan mixer. The original design was that of two Germans L. Eirich and J. Eirich (Brit. Pat. 379265 25/8/32). [Pg.104]

The Eirich miser granulator is a unique design commonly employed in ceramics and clay industries (Fig. 21-1616 ). Here both impeller blades and the chopper rotate on eccentrically mounted vertical shafts, while in addition the cylindrical bowl rotates. This provides a hybrid of mixer and tumbling granulation, and generally more spherical granules are produced than those achieved in other batch mixer processes. [Pg.2367]

Figure 139(g) and (h) depicts muller mixers (B.l). The batch machine, less muller rollers, is essentially identical with the mixer described in the early patent of Eirich. 5 While this modified equipment (B.3) is still used extensively for agglomeration (Figure 138), the continuous type (Figure 139(h)) is only... [Pg.183]
