Specifically designed egg incubators are available but are not usually necessary. The inoculated eggs should be incubated with the pointed end downwards at 37°C for 2-3 d. During this time the eggs may be turned slightly, but we have not found this absolutely necessary. 

Adult beetles mate quickly after exiting from their chambers. Ovipo-sition begins within 2-3 days. The female oviposits into the pores, cracks, and crevices of hardwood. Eggs incubate for 2-3 weeks before hatching.

Hens and quails eggs incubated 40 4h so that they are at stage 10-12. The hens eggs (hosts) should have been resting on their sides at least 30 min. Dissecting microscope. 

Egg incubator set to 38-39°C with water reservoir to keep air humid (>90% humidity). Egg trays cardboard trays the eggs are delivered on can be used.
