Effect of glass transition temperature

Lievonen et al.lu analysed the temperature dependence of NEB, using the Arrhenius equation. All systems could be analysed, five of the six giving a visually observable break, usually 2-12 °C above T. For glucose/MD, the break was observed below Tg and, for glucose/PVP, no break was apparent. calculated for [Pg.42]

Schneider, et examined the effect of glass transition temperature (Tg) on the adhesion (to plywood) and flexibility of redispersible EVA powder-modified mortars for plywood substrates, and found that EVA powder with a glass transition temperature of -10°C is more effective than one with a glass transition temperature of 10°C. [Pg.174]

As shown in Tables 11.1 and 11.2, the heat distortion temperatures (HDT) for PLA do not change much with molecular weight. Amorphous and crystalline PLLA show HDT values of55-57°C and 60-66°C, respectively, therefore PLA heat deflection temperature seems little influenced by its crystallinity crystalline PLA reaches slightly higher heat resistance than amorphous PLA. This is due to main effect of glass transition temperature onto HDT, effect that is very similar in both cases. Heat distortion temperature value for PDLLA is around 50°C and this difference is easily understandable if we take into consideration the physicochemical properties of this material in fact, PDLLA exhibits the lowest Tg, around 50°C, approximately corresponding to its HDT value. [Pg.144]

Understanding the effects of orientational enhancements has been made more complex, however, by the need to account for supramolecular interactions such as dipolar aggregation, the tendency of dipoles to adopt align antiparallel with their neighbors (38). Several studies have explored the effects of glass transition temperature on polymeric photorefractive properties (46-48). [Pg.915]
