Effect of flow gas composition

According to X-ray diffraction results for an a-Al203/(Li, Na)2C03 system, in which was observed the greatest weight loss, only slight decomposition of carbonate occurred. Furthermore, in a y-LiAlOj/lLi, 

Na)2C03 system, the immersion tests were performed in an air atmosphere over 18 000 h at 923 K, and none of the above-mentioned changes was observed [20, 21], These results indicated that the mentioned weight loss reaction might happen in each system, and only in the a-Al203/(Li, Na)2C03 system was the reaction product considerably detected. 

An undistorted carbonate ion is trigonal planar with symmetry and has four normal modes of vibration Vj
