Effect of Coal Properties

The ASTM has defined many testing procedures applicable to coal, as well as to coke (Chapter 8) (Tables 16.4 and 16.5) (Zimmerman, 1979). It is not the purpose here to reproduce all of the tests but to highlight those tests that are more commonly seen as presenting indications of the effect of the coal on the properties of the coke.
