Edge widths

Diamond wheel specifications show diamond concentration in the grinding rim a concentration of 100 equals 25 vol % diamond. Most wheels have diamond concentrations in the range of 50 to 200 and selection depends on use. Lower concentrations work best on wide contact surfaces higher concentrations work best on narrow edge widths (47). [Pg.15]

Chaining fi-om tetrahedral to octahedral cooidin on, the intensities of the white line increase, whereas the edge widths decrease. Looking at these features a transition fi-om tetrahedral coordination in ZnO to octahedral one in ZnH-[Al]MFI is obvious (Tab. 1). However, [Zn]MFI... [Pg.197]

Since for strength reasons b cannot be reduced without any limit, it is suggested that the paddle edges be slanted. From a range of different paddle profiles, that shown in Fig. 5.19 has proved to be the most favorable. For a stirrer diameter d = 192 mm the blade height is 48 mm, the blade thickness 4 mm, the length of the slant 15 mm and the edge width 0.5 mm. Measurements showed, that in this way the stirrer speed could be reduced by 5% and the stirrer power reduced by 17%. [Pg.235]

When the particles edges are examined more closely in Figure 35, the low level of crystalline perfection is further substantiated. The maximum, continuous edge widths are no more than a few hundred nanometres, far less than the several micron observed in the natnral samples. [Pg.445]

When viewed edge-on the edges are smooth and continuous over several microns with no random or erratic behavior, although edge width varies significantly, as shown in Figure 40. [Pg.447]

After the filament bundle has been spread in the laying system (e.g., electrostatic system, gas dynamic stream, laying jets and blades, elliptic oscillators, multilaying with cross-moving directions), one obtains a warp to form a fabric with defined properties (spaee weight, width, edge width, individual titer, and thiekness of the fleece, etc.) and therefore defined end uses (eovers for baby diapers, heavy geotextiles, ete.). [Pg.787]
