Easier Validation Through the Use of Open Applications

It can be seen, therefore, that modern systems must be able to provide interfaces to a wide variety of devices. Key to all of these interfaces is the ability to receive and transmit, transfer, store, recall and display information in a wide variety of formats. 

In a project such as the one described above, there are obviously a large number of systems to be integrated and interfaces to be considered. A method is required to allow such a complex solution to be validated. A logical and hierarchical approach is required that will ensure that the requirements of validation are addressed throughout the life cycle of the system. 

Given the greater scope of today s (and future) open systems, it is important that all aspects of validation are fully reviewed and understood with respect to such systems. 

Where a Validation Plan covers more than one distinct system, it may be appropriate to produce a Validation Master Plan (VMP), with subservient Validation Plans for the individual systems to provide a better focus on requirements.
