Dysfunction Coating Medium

Mixtures of several different sodium hyaluronate concentrations are commercially available (Vislube /Vismed 0,18% Laservis 0.25% Hylo-COMOD 0.1% Chemedica, Munchen, Germany Ursapharm, Saarbriicken, Germany). 

Chemical burn therapy also makes use of viscoelastics. In the treatment of bacterial corneal ulcers hyaluronic acid has been sucessfully employed as well (Gandolfi, Massari Orsoni, 1992). 

The tip of the irrigation/aspiration handpiece is led along the edge of the cap-sulorhexis/pupil in a circular motion through the 4 quadrants or pushed forward below the lens optic. Viscoelastic is first removed out of one half of the capsular bag and the anterior chamber, then the handle is turned 180° and begins aspiration of the other half (Fig. 106). 

The irrigation/aspiration handle is led beginning from the middle of the lOL radially towards the periphery and turned along the tip axis to release irrigation fluid into the capsular bag (Arshinoff). 

Aspiration of Healon GV was accomplished with higher vacuum than the low viscous Provisc , Healon or Amvisc . For Viscoat , no start aspiration value was given.

Despite the fact that this generation of DES reduced in-stent restenosis greatly, the delayed endothelialization or its dysfunction is a big issue [48, 54, 63]. This is most likely due to hypersensitivity caused by the non-degradable polymers used as a coating and drug release medium, [47] which could be solved by the birth of the next generation DESs.
