Dynamit (Dynamite), Dynamites with active bases, now called Straight Dynamites and which correspond to present formulations, were first prepd by A. Nobel in 1869, Nobel coated the particles of a mixt of oxidizers (K, Na or amm nitrate) and solid combustibles (such as woodmeal, charcoal, rosin, starch or sugar) with NG. The patent suggested a mixt of Ba nitrate 70, rosin or charcoal 10, and NG 20%. Sulfur could be either added or omitted... 

Potassium" Dynamites (Dynamite a La Potasse). A series of expls proposed in 1873 by the British Dynamite Co, Ltd (which later became the Nobel Explosives Co, Ltd), which consisted of NG 15, saltpeter 70—75, plus paraffin and powdered charcoal 7-17%. Another mixt contained NG 18, saltpeter 71, charcoal 10, and paraffin 1%... 

Landsdorf Dynamite. Dynamite contg NG 75, kieselguhr 20 Amm urate 5%...

Widest uses of antifreezes are in NG contg expls, such as dynamites. Dynamites contg antifreezes are called "low-freezing ( schwergefrierbare, in Ger) and "non-freezing ( ungefrierbare," in Ger) dynamites ( Dynamite" in Ger)... 

Soda Dynamites. Dynamites contg Na nitrate as the chief ingredient. The first formulations of this type were prepd in 1873 by the British Dynamite Co Ltd later to become Nobel s Explosives Co, Ltd). They contained 70—75% Na nitrate, about 15% NG and 7-17% paraffin and charcoal dust. Due to the high hygroscopi-city of Na nitrate, these expls were rejected by the Brit military authorities...

It you have access to blasting caps, you can also get dynamite. Dynamite lends itself well to potato masher grenades. So if you can get dynamite, you re all set. Just put a stick of dynamite in a pipe, push in a blasting cap with a length of safety fuse and you re all set.
